Amy Elkins is the principal broker and the owner of Southern Homes. She has over 18 years of real estate experience in this market. Amy is a wife, mother, grandmother and, newly, an empty-nester. She was born in Athens, Tennessee before moving around at an early age due her parents military career. She did come back to southeast Tennessee and attended most of her elementary school years locally, within McMinn County. She has lived in multiple states as a teen with her family including NC, FL and in TX as a young adult. She moved back to the southeast valley of Tennessee, returning to her roots, in the fall of 1999 and never looked back! Amy is proud to be a Volunteer by birth and by choice.
Amy was involved in relocation in real estate in large market of San Antonio, Texas prior to moving back home. She returned to real estate in the summer of 2005 obtaining her Tennessee license. Amy started working with investors right away and it led to her developing into work in property management. She constantly sought after additional education and eventually opened her own firm in the summer of 2011. She loves living and working in this beautiful valley. She is committed and involved in her local church, serves as a director on her local MLS association board, works within an local community outreach program, President of the Tri-County Rental Property Owner Association, serves on the McMinn County Economic Development housing task force, and is Active Member of National Association of Residential Property Managers.
She does enjoy photography and cooking as her primary hobbies and is an avid animal lover and rescuer. Amy enjoys giving back and tries to sow seed wherever she is, including pouring back into her church family, Southern Homes team and community! Her faith is the primary focus in her life and everything she does is unashamedly dedicated to the Glory of God.
