Amy Elkins is the principal broker and the owner of Southern Homes. She has over 20 years of real estate experience in this market. Amy is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born in Athens, Tennessee before moving around at an early age due to her parent's military career. She did come back to Athens and attended most of her elementary school years locally, within McMinn County. She has lived in multiple states as a teen with her family including NC, FL and in TX as a young adult. She moved back to the southeast valley of Tennessee, returning to her roots, in the fall of 1999 and never looked back! Amy is proud to be a Volunteer by birth and by choice!
Amy was licensed and involved in relocation in San Antonio, Texas prior to moving back home to TN. When she returned to real estate in Tennessee, she started working with investors right away and it led to her developing into work in property management. She constantly sought after additional education and eventually opened her own firm in the summer of 2011.
Amy is committed to her hometown and involved in the community there. She is involved with her local church, serves as a director on her local MLS association board, works within an local community outreach program, has been the President of the Tri-County Rental Property Owner Association for several years, serves on the McMinn County Economic Development housing task force, and is Active Member of National Association of Residential Property Managers. This coming year she will be serving with the local Chamber of Commerce as well.
